The British Ex-Forces in Business Award is a celebration and recognition of ex-military personnel in the UK workforce and is dedicated to providing a much-needed platform for promoting the achievements of ex-military who are now excelling in the business world.

The high-profile ceremony not only gathers hundreds of business leaders to reveal and honour the winners, but also brings together top companies, key military personnel, politicians, journalists and other stakeholders to raise awareness of resettlement issues, further dialogue around the importance of ex-forces employment initiatives and promotes the significant value that military-gained skills, if better utilised in the UK workforce, can provide to the British economy.

Winners will be revealed at the gala ceremony in London on 17 May 2018.

MD of SMARTech energy, Stuart Pearce said “I’m incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for this award.  After serving in the Royal Engineers for 9 years, I have contributed to a number of companies and gained a multitude of trades; from a mechanical plant fitter, air conditioning and refrigeration engineer, to finally gaining electrical inspecting and testing qualifications; concluding that there was a prime opportunity for organisations to reduce costs and improve sustainability through reduced energy consumption. I have thrived on applying the skills gained from previous experiences to address the challenges of navigating a fast-growing business and I’m delighted by how much SMARTech energy has grown over the past 4 years”.
