As an Accredited Supplier, energy saving projects delivered by SMARTech energy are eligible for a capital contribution of up to 15 percent of the project cost, up to a maximum of £5,000, from the Carbon Trust’s Green Business Fund. The fund has been available since April 2016 and is offered on a first come, first served basis. This could mean you could receive up to £5,000 towards the cost of your energy saving project to help you meet the challenge of becoming a more sustainable business whilst reducing your energy consumption and saving money on an on-going basis.
Small and medium-sized businesses, schools, charities and voluntary organisations are able to apply for a capital contribution towards the cost of their energy saving project. To be eligible, organisations must meet certain criteria including:
- Have fewer than 250 employees
- Turnover of less than £25.9m
- Annual balance sheet not in excess of £12.9m
- £5,000 minimum project size to be delivered by a Carbon Trust Accredited Supplier
Capital contributions are currently available across the range of SMARTech energy’s Energy Reduction Solutions including LED Lighting, Evaporative Cooling, Voltage Optimisation, Motor Optimisation, Low Carbon Boiler Systems and SMART Refrigeration.
The 15% capital grant is available up to a limit of £5,000. For projects up to £33,333 you can benefit from the full 15% contribution. For projects totalling more, then the £5,000 maximum will be receivable. Grant monies are typically received within 10 working days of the project being completed. The Carbon Trust are very clear, however, that monies will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Funding from the Green Business Fund for energy saving projects is only available for projects delivered by a Carbon Trust Accredited Supplier. As an Accredited Supplier, SMARTech energy helps its clients through the application process and provides all the necessary technical information and documentation required for a successful application.
We also have a range of finance partners whom we can help our clients to secure loan funding for projects if this is the most appropriate means of financing a project. For many of our projects, the cost of finance can be met from the energy savings delivered by the project and still leave headroom for ongoing savings to your budget. Where projects can be funded from the savings achieved, many of the budget obstacles can be overcome enabling the business to benefit from new technology, cost savings and to become more environmentally sustainable.
