SMARTech energy have been working at a dairy farm in Wiltshire to identify energy waste and reduce their electrical consumption.
As the farm expanded, the business was keen to protect themselves from rising energy costs and identified SMARTech energy as their energy management and reduction specialist partner and someone to help rein in energy consumption and costs.
The process to reduce energy consumption started with SMARTech energy following the first three stages of their nine step methodology which looked at how, where and when energy was used (and crucially where it was being wasted). In depth monitoring gave minute by minute data and identified a broad range of variables that would affect total energy consumption. This information in conjunction with an in depth site survey helped SMARTech energy develop an Energy Management Plan, which included a number of recommendations for upgrades that would yield significant energy reductions.
Following the Energy Management Survey the client asked SMARTech energy to implement the Energy Plan and used our full project managed service for the installation of LED lighting, Voltage Optimisation and Photovoltaic Cells. Our fully project managed service ensured the work remained on track and delivered the expected outcomes.
After the upgrades had been completed, SMARTech energy re-monitored the site and proved that energy consumption (and energy costs) had been reduced by 74.6% as specified in the EMS. By providing quantifiable data from before and after a project has been completed, SMARTech energy are able to prove to our clients that energy has been reduced and that Return on Investment projections are accurate.
