Year on year growth in business has seen increased electricity use and energy being a major individual cost to the business. With this in mind it was decided to take action and reduce this where possible.
Fascia Graphics engaged with SMARTech energy who are market leading energy management & reduction specialists, experts in energy savings for businesses. We are based in Corsham, Wiltshire and follow a 9 step Methodology to help businesses take back control and reduce their energy consumption.
SMARTech energy carried out an Energy Management Survey and installed real time energy monitoring equipment to understand exactly How, Where & When their energy was being consumed and more importantly wasted. Key area’s concentrated on was the power quality being delivered to site, how much the printing presses and compressor were costing to run as these were the main items of equipment drawing electricity. Once SMARTech energy had all the facts they set out to develop a energy plan to help Fascia Graphics reduce their electricity consumption and carbon emissions by 33%.
The energy plan consisted of the implementation of Voltage Optimisation which delivered 17.34% savings on the total site consumption, Motor Optimisation which delivered 88% savings on the presses operating costs, a new LED lighting solution with motion detection which delivered 76.25% saving on application and a new energy efficient compressor which proved a 73% reduction in energy consumption and finally kVA reduction which would save 45%.
SMARTech energy quantifies the savings at each intervention or process change to ensure it meets the recommended energy savings. In this instance we managed to over deliver by 10.1% and achieved a 36.5% energy reduction, with a yearly carbon reduction of 132.6 Tonnes.
