Devizes Leisure Centre benefit from evaporative cooling system

SMARTech energy is pleased to report that we have completed the second phase of the energy efficiency upgrades to Devizes Leisure Centre in Wiltshire.  SMARTech energy installed evaporative cooling which has led to energy savings of 90% when compared to air conditioning and LED lighting which has seen an energy reduction of 77.5% when compared to the previous lighting loads.  To achieve these significant energy reductions, SMARTech energy tackled the project in two phases.

• Phase I included developing a lighting redesign strategy (replacing 63 lights to 36) and upgrading to LED lighting in the gym, which will reduce energy bills by 77.5%, in addition to providing a better quality light and reduced heat.  Given that SMARTech energy take a holistic approach to energy management, this reduced heat load has been a useful benefit when we installed a cooling system in Phase II.
• Phase II included the installation of a SMART Cooling System controlled by a SMART Control System that will deliver a pleasant environment and result in targeted energy savings of at least 90%. SMARTech energy installed two SMART Cooling systems at Devizes, one in the Gym and one in the fitness studio upstairs.  As part of the work, SMARTech energy designed, specified, installed and calibrated systems, including the integration of the cooling system into the existing Building Management System interface. SMARTech energy also offered staff training on how to use the new features on the control panel.

Furthermore, as part of the package and throughout the project SMARTech energy had a dedicated Project Manager who oversaw the upgrades and ensured that everything remained on track.
