With summer fading into a distant memory and coats becoming the primary asset before you leave the house, it is likely many of you will be looking to ensure your heating systems are well equipped and as energy efficient as possible before they are thrust into full action. With this in mind the team at SMARTech energy decided to take a well-earned half day to recuperate before everyone decides to cut their energy bill for the winter months and call us into action.
The chosen activity was clay pigeon shooting. As ever there was a small amount of competitiveness involved, though everyone insisted this wasn’t the case.
Most of all Mr Stuart Pearce, formerly of the Royal Engineers and SMARTech energy founder, showed a mean competitive edge. Had we been playing golf he would have been giving a shot or two handicap to the rest of the field in each round.
Commencing the shoot was Brian, a member of the business development team. His confidence and assured grip of the gun put fear into to all wanting to win the kitty. 10 shots later no one’s fears were realised as all of the clay’s landed safely in the field!
It was safe to say that Brian didn’t quite live up to his own hype. After 3 rounds and a close fought competition, the winner emerged victorious. No prizes for guessing who that was (handicaps will definitely be applied next time!).
It was a great day out, enjoyed by all with everyone agreeing that Brian’s hit percentage didn’t quite match the savings in energy SMARTech delivers to its customers. Also it is perhaps prudent to not allow your manager to pick the activity, especially when there’s money involved!
