SMARTech energy are delighted to be exhibiting at Interplas 2023, NEC.
SMARTech energy partners with organisations to reduce their energy consumption, costs and carbon by up to 33%.
As an award-winning energy management and reduction specialist, SMARTech energy are exhibiting at Interplas 2023 NEC, from Tuesday 26th September to Thursday 28th September to showcase its Energy Efficiency as a Service (EEaaS) programme to the manufacturing industry. This energy management programme guarantees to help businesses to reduce their energy usage by between 20% and 33%. Thereby helping organisations to save energy, save money and save carbon.
Visit our Stand # FF7
The team at SMARTech energy are inviting delegates to visit Stand FF7 to get a better understanding of how and why reducing a site’s total energy consumption is what really lowers a business’s exposure to a volatile energy market – whilst reducing carbon footprint.
This exhibition will provide a platform to discuss how its team of energy consultants develop bespoke energy and carbon management strategies, which optimise the energy performance and operating conditions of a site. This, together with the installation of energy efficient technologies with proven and guaranteed energy savings – plus on-going support, is really helping businesses to become more sustainable.
Save Energy. Save Money. Save Carbon.
Managing Director for SMARTech energy Stuart Pearce said “With the UK manufacturing industry facing continuing pressures from soaring energy costs, my team and I are eager to be able to help identify opportunities where SMARTech energy can deliver sustainable energy efficient solutions, which not only benefit the financial aspects of a company, but the environmental net zero targets too”.
Visit us on Stand number FF7 at the NEC to understand how SMARTech energy can reduce your site’s energy consumption, costs and carbon.

Verified Energy Savings of 28% for Hotel Group
SMARTech energy’s team of specialist energy consultants have helped a major hotel chain to save 28% in energy consumption at one of their leading sites in Buckinghamshire.
With Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service, the hotel has had access to state-of-the-art energy efficient technology without any upfront costs.
An initial site survey and installation of energy monitoring technology identified the following technologies across the hotel for upgrades.
Energy consumption reduced by 79%
- Gas boiler system upgrade
Energy consumption reduced by 40%
- Thermal insulation jacket
Energy consumption reduced by 10%
Measurement and Verification of Electricity and Gas Energy Data
The energy savings are measured and verified using the International Performance Measurement Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
This protocol sets out how measurement and verification (M&V) is to be conducted and includes baselines, site data and the utility calculations used to show true savings.
The following graphs represent a reporting period from June 2021 to May 2022.
The top line on the graph is the adjusted baseline energy usage of kWhs used if upgrades to low-carbon technologies were not carried out.
The bottom line on the graph is the actual measured energy usage on utility bills following technology upgrades.
Verified Combined Energy Savings of 28%
Upgrades of gas and electricity technologies to low-carbon solutions have proven energy savings of 28% and with no upfront costs, finance leasing or risk, Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service is the economical way to make change.
The energy savings pay for the installation, maintenance and management of the low carbon technologies; allowing the hotel group to enjoy the benefits of an energy reduction and sustainability programme.

Energy Efficiency as a Service set to save The Activate Learning Education Trust more than 40% on energy consumption per year
Chippenham-based SMARTech energy has announced a new fully-funded Energy-Efficiency-as-a-Service (EEaaS) partnership with The Activate Learning Education Trust.
The partnership will see the Energy-Efficiency-as-a-Service programme rolled out at five University Technical Colleges and Schools operated by the Trust.
This follows the first successful delivery of the EEaaS programme at University Technical College (UTC) Swindon – where cutting edge upgrades to low-carbon technology such as lighting, motor optimisation and base load reduction has secured energy savings of 43%; equivalent to more than £200,000 in energy bills over a 10 year contract.
EEaaS – The fully funded energy reduction programme
EEaaS is a fully funded, shared savings energy reduction programme. All energy efficiency measures are installed with no upfront costs, lease or risk to the organisation; enabling education settings to reduce energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions easily.
The ‘as a service’ option enables The Trust to easily integrate an energy and sustainability programme which delivers huge benefits – whilst demonstrating their strong commitment to innovation, sustainability and best practice towards environmental policy.
Energy Management Makes Good Business Sense
Managing Director of SMARTech energy Stuart Pearce said “Its about making energy efficiency simple. With EEaaS, the energy technologies are seen as a service, rather than a purchase. Instead of purchasing the energy saving technology, sites can implement projects without capital expenditure, lease or risk and it’s this approach to energy efficiency which is helping organisations to make clear, defined business decisions on energy management – essential for improved profitability and sustainability”.
Stuart continues “Energy management makes good business sense & with energy bills soaring, its a real wake up call for companies to look at how to reduce their energy consumption. We’re seeing an unprecedented increase in successful projects moving forward – especially through our Energy-Efficiency-as-a-Service model”.

Hotel SAVES £30K per year on energy spend with Energy Efficiency as a Service
Corus Hotels, in partnership with energy management specialist SMARTech energy, are on track to meet green sustainability targets and save on energy costs – through a fully funded energy reduction programme, Energy Efficiency as a Service (EEaaS).
BURNHAM BEECHES HOTEL, SLOUGH
ENERGY CONSUMPTION REDUCED BY 34%
This follows the first successful roll-out of the Energy Efficiency as a Service programme at the group’s Burnham Beeches Hotel in Slough.
Hotels are inherently high users of energy. The Burnham Beeches Hotel spends approximately £1.5m on gas and electricity over a 10 year period. An initial monitoring and review of energy use at Burnham Beeches Hotel has identified savings of more than 34% in energy consumption.
With no upfront costs, finance leasing or risk, Energy Efficiency as a Service is the economical way to make change. The energy savings pay for the installation, maintenance and management of the low carbon technologies; allowing the hotel group to enjoy the benefits of an energy reduction and sustainability programme.
CARBON EMISSIONS REDUCED BY 1,400 TONNES
Upgrades to lighting, boilers and motors are expected to show energy savings of more than £300k over the next 10 years, along with carbon savings of approximately 1,400 tonnes over the terms of the contract.
The following model shows energy use from June 2021 to October 2021. The blue bars chart the adjusted baseline energy use (i.e. what the hotel’s energy use would have been this year – given the effects of the temperature in these months this year, and based on the relationship between their energy use and temperature previously).

£319k ENERGY SAVINGS OVER 10 YEARS
Using a diverse portfolio of more than 33 energy saving solutions, SMATech energy identified the following initial technologies to help reduce energy consumption:
- LED lighting upgrade – Energy consumption reduced by 79%
- Gas boiler system upgrade – Energy consumption reduced by 40%
- Thermal insulation jacket – Energy consumption reduced by 10%
CARBON EMISSION SAVINGS EQUIVALENT TO 1483 TONNES
SMARTech energy have developed an integrated energy efficiency programme which has identified more than £319k savings in the hotel’s annual energy costs; alongside carbon savings of more than 1483 tonnes.
These savings demonstrate the hotel’s strong commitment to innovation, sustainability and best practice towards environmental policy.
Managing Director of SMARTech energy Stuart Pearce said “Energy Efficiency as a Service(EEaaS) is about making energy efficiency simple. With EEaaS, the low carbon technologies are seen as a service – rather than a purchase. Instead of purchasing the energy saving technologies, hotels can implement projects without capital expenditure, lease or risk”.
