Reducing energy consumption is key to future sustainability

Wiltshire-based SMARTech energy are specialists in reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions for businesses and organisations across the UK.

With news that the UK Government have outlined plans to help cut energy bills for businesses over the next six months, MD of SMARTech energy Stuart Pearce, states the actual reality is that the long-term uncertainty of energy prices means that the act to reduce energy consumption and therefore energy costs, is as acute as ever.

Energy Management and Reduction

“Reducing a site’s energy consumption is what really lowers a business’s exposure to a volatile energy market.  In the long run, it’s the development of energy management strategies and the installation of energy efficient technologies which is really helping businesses and organisations to cut energy costs”.

Stuart states that many businesses want to reduce energy costs and improve their sustainability credentials quickly – and even more so with the current energy crisis.

Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service

The launch of Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service (EEaaS) is being seen as pivotal in helping large industrial type business sites to tackle rising energy costs.

Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service is a fully funded, shared savings energy reduction program.  It enables organisations to upgrade electrical and gas assets to state-of-the-art energy efficient systems without incurring any upfront capital costs.

With SMARTech energy investing in the technologies, materials, installation and agreed-ongoing maintenance, the shared savings approach of the model ensures that customers receive immediate and tangible energy savings with the quickest return on investment and which is essential for profitability and sustainability.

Guaranteed Energy Savings of 20% to 30%

Energy savings are guaranteed and typically equate to savings of more than 20% in energy consumption across a customer’s site.

Stuart adds “The Government’s plan will be a huge help to many businesses, but energy prices will probably remain high for many months to come and it’s the longer-term strategy of energy management which businesses need to look at”.
