SMARTech energy partners with Wiltshire construction firm Beard to deliver 34% energy reduction strategy
Chippenham-based energy management and reduction specialist SMARTech energy have partnered with Swindon-based construction firm Beard to design, develop and deliver energy efficiency solutions as part of their ongoing business sustainability strategy.

SMARTech energy aims to help Beard to reduce their electrical and gas energy consumption by 34% and will be achieved through the investment and installation of low-carbon and renewable technologies; ultimately to save energy, save costs and save carbon.
Transition to Net Zero
Director for Beard, Mike Hedges said “This report emphasises our vision for a sustainable future and helps set clear targets that we can aim to achieve in our transition to net-zero.“
The sustainability plan delivers a framework to efficiently embrace sustainable practices and helps achieve a reduction in carbon emissions. The plan is led by the recommendations from governing legislation assessments such as the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) and the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme Phase 2 (ESOS) report which was carried out by a Lead Assessor from SMARTech energy.
Energy Monitoring
The installation of a Solar PV system at the company’s offices in Guildford surrey, together with a proposal for two other sites forms the latest part of the sustainability roll-out.
The set-up of a remote energy monitoring system will enable the monitoring of the panels’ generation and efficiency to ensure the system is constantly delivering results.
