SMARTech energy have just helped a large metal recycling & waste site to reduce their energy consumption by 10.3%.
This equates to more than £1m in energy costs over the terms of the contract and savings of more than 650 tonnes in carbon emissions.
Bespoke energy reduction strategy
We partnered with the client to create a bespoke two stage energy reduction strategy as part of their 10-year plan to reduce costs, cut carbon emissions and save on energy consumption through our EEaaS (Energy Efficiency as a Service) programme.
The initial strategy was to target 8.6% of energy savings, but results – which are measured from our monitoring and verification report from the first 90 days, have actually shown a reduction in energy consumption of 10.3%. This equates to a cut in energy costs of more than £1m over the life of the contract and savings of more than 650 tonnes in carbon emissions.
Further energy savings
The second stage of the strategy aims to further reduce the combined energy savings by 25% and this will see approximately £2.5m in energy savings.
Zero CapEx
This client took the zero CapEx approach to energy efficiency improvements. They didn’t have the capital to invest or experience and resource to implement an energy reduction plan and so SMARTech energy provided 100% of the investment to develop a strategy, install and deliver a bespoke tech stack to achieve the most efficient savings – all within a few short months.
Continue to guarantee the results
The customer (and our team) are delighted by these results and they’re safe in the knowledge that we’ll continue to work to guarantee that the energy savings are achieved through our ongoing energy management support, continuous energy monitoring and through powerful dashboard analytics which provide alerts and which continue to check the results.
