Despite being a newly established company (June 2014) SMARTech energy Ltd is making huge progress in its mission to reduce energy consumption in commercial businesses across Wiltshire.
SMARTech works with its clients to identify WHERE, WHEN and HOW companies are wasting energy. Once this has been established they create a strategic energy plan, which focuses on eliminating this waste usually targeting between 30%-50% energy savings.
SMARTech’s in-depth knowledge of energy management and their innovative solutions ensure that businesses can achieve good levels of energy reduction by optimising the use of their equipment and machinery.
Its message has particularly resonated with two local companies the first based in Chippenham.
Fascia Graphics are a manufacturer of membrane keypads and switches, graphic overlays, screen-printed labels and nameplates. Established in 1994, they use the most advanced technology available to ensure that everything that they manufacture meets the exact technical and ergonomic requirements of their customers.
SMARTech’s recommendations for Fascia Graphics had an immediate impact on their energy usage. Following a SMARTech energy management methodology review, energy wastage was identified and an energy plan was developed, this has been split in to two stages with a total targeted saving in excess of 50%.
Stage one has included a new LED lighting system which is installed alongside voltage optimisation, motor optimisation and air conditioning energy saving solutions.

SMARTech energy implements energy monitoring equipment across a client’s site to enable then to capture and analyse energy usage in real-time. This process assists in identifying and quantifying the energy savings as part of their methodology, giving peace of mind to their client’s plus delivering an open and honest approach to energy management.
The second client to employ SMARTech is Old Mill Accountants based in Melksham. They are Tax and Financial Planners with five offices located across the West Country. With over 250 staff, they offer a comprehensive range of professional service and advice to over 5,000 private and business clients.
When SMARTech energy were asked by Old Mill Accountants to review their expected energy usage for their new offices it resulted in recommendations to install new LED lighting with occupancy sensors plus new emergency lighting and a new energy efficient air conditioning system to ensure their staff have comfortable working conditions. This energy plan will enable them to be energy efficient and maintain low energy bills.
Richard Hain stated, “We have recently moved locations for our Melksham office and as SMARTech energy are a client of ours we asked them to help us ensure our new offices would be energy efficient but ensure that it delivered a comfortable environment for our clients and staff .
Although the SMARTech brand has the capability to support organisations across the Country they have a strong desire to focus on assisting companies across the South West. Having such a positive start has meant that growth has been substantial and SMARTech is looking to expand their team. So far they have already employed two full-time employees plus an additional two part-time members of the team and are looking to recruit a full time project manager and electrician.
The future for energy efficient companies in Wiltshire looks very bright.
