SMARTech energy is seeking an experienced Industrial Installation Electrician to join our expanding team.
If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, a second-to-none work ethic and you have relevant experience within the commercial industry, we would like to hear from you.
Taking pride in your work at all times, you’ll install a variety of energy saving technologies; from Building Management Systems, energy monitoring systems, plantrooms, motors, pumps, air handling units, VSDs, pressurisation units, control panels to sensors etc.
You will be focused, motivated, proactive and a strong communicator with a methodical approach.
The opportunity
Headquartered in Chippenham, this role is required to work on installation projects both in our local area and work away 50% on projects across the UK.
Experience is required in fixed wire testing, manual handling, asbestos awareness, IPAF, CS Gold Card and Inspecting and Testing.
Responsibilities:
Installing heavy industrial machinery, 3-phase motors and associated control equipment.
Modifying and commissioning of electrical plant equipment.
Conducting your own risk assessments and create appropriate method statements to safely carry out installation.
Provide advice and supervision to apprentices.
Inspection and Testing of your own work.
Examples of some installations you could be working on: BMS systems, VSDs, control panels, motors, pumps, control cabling, lighting and heating etc.
The successful applicant:
The ideal candidate will have the ability to read from schematic drawings.
18th Edition BS7671, IPAF and PASMA are essential.
Ideally you will be qualified to national diploma level or otherwise and will have a City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical subject.
C&G 2391 inspection and testing or equivalent – desirable, but not essential.
Due to the nature of the role a valid UK driving licence is essential and as the post will work across a number of sites in the region, the preferred location of the candidate will be within easy reach of the M4.
The work will require physical fitness and the ability to work at height with successful completion of the appropriate IPAF training; as well as flexibility to work out of hours when necessary.
Package:
Our package includes competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience, contributory pension, 20 days holiday + bank holidays + 1 extra day per year up to 5 days from 2 years of service.
Monday – Friday 40 hours + Overtime, 3 months probation and assessment period.
A van will be provided.
Pension scheme – Employee 5% and Company 3% (optional)
Paid travel, living away allowance and hotel accommodation provided
